Relax and unwind in this very large 18th Century house located at the heart of the bastide within a couple minutes walk to the restaurants, the river with a beach and the scented garden; le Jardin des Sens. If you are cycling the Lot valley the house has a secure courtyard where you can leave your bikes or use the garage if you prefer. The house offers spacious rooms with access to the court yard, roof top terrace and garden. We welcome everyone and we love all dogs except category 2 which will not be allowed for safety measures.
I moved to Castelfranc from the Paris region in 2020 to buy, renovate and start a B&B and fell in love with this amazing 18th century house, i live alone with my dog Popeye, it has been challenging but also rewarding and after 2 years renovating we finally opened last june. i love meeting people who come and stay in the house and try to share a bit of it's history and quirkiness; i am fluent in English and have lived and worked in English speaking countries most of my life, i am a dog lover so they are welcome here except category 2 dogs for safety measures
Castelfranc is a bastide in the Cahors vignoble about 20 mns drive from Cahors, it was founded in 1280 for the bishops of Cahors as a summer retreat, it has a Historical monument, Notre Dame church of the Assomption. has 400 inhabitants who live and work there all year long and is not a second home paradise which has left many villages souless, it's a "village qui vit" as the mayor told me when i arrived and as such it has kept its authenticity, charm and character unlike many popular touristic villages in the region
