The cottages are located in the rich nature of Hammer Bakkers, surrounded by wildlife, hiking trails and high skies. Go in search of burial mounds and old forest dykes, or take a trip to Pebermosen. You can also climb Tinghøj, the highest point on the hills. If you spend your time at the house, soak up the sun on the south-facing terrace and round off the day in the barrel sauna or by the fireplace before retiring under the thatched roof. Meet Kaj Our name is Else and Kaj, and we own this old, historic cottage. The cottage was built by the Scottish painter Sheena Page Villadsen, who lived in the house for over 50 years. It is situated in the Paradise Valley in the unique nature area Hammer Bakker, which consists of numerous wooded hills, ravines and heathland. Sheena started at Dundee College of Art at the age of 17 and later went to Edinburgh College of Art where she studied drawing and art history. In Scotland she met her future husband, Jens Arne Villadsen, who brought her to Denmark. Although they settled in Aalborg, where Sheena set up a studio, they were married in the charming church in Hammer Bakker - unaware of how much the area would influence Sheena's artistic work. ...
