I am a professional that works at the Royal Children's Hospital. My mother lives with me. I run Galahad’s Animal Sanctuary which was started seven years ago.
The purpose of Galahad's Sanctuary is to:
- Provide care for homeless, abused, injured or abandoned animals, teach them to trust again and provide them a forever home.
- Promote compassion, understanding and respect for all animals and promote responsible and humane treatment towards animals in our community and the wild.
Galahad's Animal Sanctuary is set on 30 acres and is an animal rescue sanctuary. Galahad's Animal Sanctuary has rescued many animals, including camels, horses, donkeys, cows, sheep, alpacas, chickens and a rooster as well as dogs. When you stay with us, all proceeds go to the feed and care of all the animals at Galahad's Sanctuary. We will provide you with a small free tour of the sanctuary at no additional charge.
The property has two dams, it is well treed with large open spaces and has a beautiful view to Mount Macedon. Kangaroos, Possums and Echidna's also live here.
You will be able to walk around the property, however please stay out of the animal paddocks without supervision, as there are large animals such as horses and camels in these paddocks.
Please note this is a working farm environment, it sometimes can be messy and smell like animals. Animals can be noisy e.g. a rooster who crows in the morning, and a camel who growls when she is pleased to see you. Not to mention the donkeys!
Please remember to ensure the gates are always closed behind you.
The rate includes a small tour of our farm sanctuary. If you would like a tour with professional photography please contact Lynne for details.
Further details on the stories of our animals and our mission can be found here: www galahads-sanctuary com
