First of all, all the staff were very friendly, kind and supportive! Anddd very clean and tidy, organized, peaceful. Giving that Japanese capsule hotel vibes, but like backpackers with having private space and interaction with ppl at the same. It was comfortable for me to stay:) Just 15min walk from the central area, I think it’s a very nice location, not too city yet walkable.

Taupo is an absolute mecca for all things outdoors – including hiking the famous Tongariro crossing, trout fishing, skydiving, jet boating, white water rafting, mountain biking and sailing on the Great Lake with the hostel's yacht 'Fearless'. Nice environment, clean and quiet. Staff were all helpful.
