Set a 10-minute walk from central Akureyri, this family-owned hostel offers basic rooms with a TV and free Wi-Fi access. Iceland’s Ring Road/Route 1 is right next to the hostel. Super clean, very well equipped, quality furniture, available well equipped kitchen, free parking, close to major supermarkets and paradoxly - it was the cheapest accomodation in Iceland during my 7 day stay and at the same time the most luxurios out of all.

Situated in central Akureyri, Akureyri Backpackers offers free Wi-Fi and rooms with access to shared bathroom facilities. A swimming pool and hot tubs are a 1-minute walk away. The venue coupled with the Bar/Restaurant was great. On site laundry is another big plus.
