Must visit to preserve that local homeowners can house guests rather than huge hotels that are much overpriced and dangerous in cases of natural disasters. This hostel was beautiful with a garden and outdoor kitchen. The price was wonderful.

I booked the female dorm and I really felt that I was taken care of. Separate entrance to the floor that only women have access to, a room just for four people, a separate bathroom just for girls, pads and tampons free to use, towels and lockers for free, healthy breakfast in the morning, the front door is locked for the night, the administrators were checking on me and were ready to help if I needed anything. I met travellers from different countries, we had a nice chat over breakfast and then decided to go to the botanical garden together. The administrators let me leave my luggage at the reception after check out till evening.

We had a great time at the Hostel California ! Our room was very clean and pleasant. It was also possible to cook and use the washing machine! The hostel is well located to enjoy the sea and is close to the supermarket and bus stops. Very convenient ! It's in the heart of Batumi old town, close to the seaside and to everything you might need in that city. Despite being in the very centre, it's far from all the noise of downtown. I will definitely consider staying at this place again next time i'm in Batumi.
