I booked this for a one night stay after a flight that got in late at night as it is located so conveniently close to the airport. However, I ended up being ill that night and the next day and so extended my stay one night. Im so glad I did - as others have said, Katty is an amazing host - she is SO kind and went above and beyond to help me. She looked after me like I was family- bringing me tea in bed, making me soup, giving me medicine etc. and quite literally nursing me back to health. The warm shower was also appreciated, and she brought a fan to my room when I was too hot with a fever. Couldn’t have asked for more - thank you my Costa Rican mama!

It is a tranquil place with 2 people taking super good care, making you comfortable and helping you with anything you like to ask but with a relaxt, leaving you to do your thing vibe. The breakfast that is included is the best! Was sad to leave, it is such a nice rural region of Costa Rica, with Rio Celeste entrance within 20 mins drive. Recommended! Night tour was nice and interesting as well!

Plus we also got a free excursion in the sorrounding garden where Juan grows mangos, avocados, blackberries and meny other fruits. Absolutely recommend.

He gave lots of great recommendations for several activities and does not want to sell tours like lots of others. Just perfect!!! This made our trip perfect and I highly recommend the hostel for everyone who goes to La Fortuna. The rooms were clean and we had a nice balkony to sit outside. It is a great hostel to get to know others.
