I arrived late after a really rough couple days and I was immediately received by Igor, the owner, with a big smile and heart. He first offered me coffee and after showing me the place we drank Rakija, in about an hour I had already stopped caring about everything that was troubling my mind and was just able to enjoy a nice night with him and a couple other guests. For Igor, as he later explained to me, his hostel is more than just a place to spend a night in. He has a philosophy of hospitality that goes beyond mere accomodation. The common area is a place of friendliness and freedom where, unless you are intolerant, you'll be able to debate just about anything; everyone, no matter where they come from or where are they heading, will feel welcomed. Due to Sarajewo's historical significance and Bosnia's lax touristic visa requirements I was able to meet people from all around the world, and thanks to Igor's good vibes the intercultural exchange is, from the get go, an ideal put into practice. Showers, bathrooms, linen and beds were excellent too, but that's secondary to the experience.
