Hostels in Sintra

Amazing location, lovely people, it's like a mini village with a supermarket and a nice kind of food court with different restaurants. The room was cleaned every day, as well as the kitchen. The yoga platforms were facing the morning sun ánd the evening sun. It's a lovely lovely place.

This was a really nice, comfortable place to stay in Ericeira. I was there for 5 or 6 days. I don't know how it compares for price against other lodgings in the centro historico, but probably pretty favorably or I wouldn't have booked a stay here in the first place (I generally stay in more economical or mid-range places). Casa dos Cucos is sort of a hybrid hostel-hotel: my private room was amply sized, two big windows, two twin beds; bathrooms are shared but there are enough, so no traffic jams; a couple of large common areas with big tables; a large and excellently appointed shared kitchen, with a dishwasher, no less. The place, in an old building just off Old Town's main square, Praça da Republica, was beautifully renovated and simply and tastefully furnished, and even includes a small patio outside the kitchen door. And as can happen at the more fun hostels I've stayed at over the years, I met and had some great conversations with a few of the other guests, interesting people from all sorts of different places. This is less apt to happen if you're in and out in just a night or two, of course. The hostel even puts bathrobes in the rooms, for getting to and from the bathrooms. A very nice touch, and I got a good laugh from it. I am quite a large man, almost 2 meters and 115 kg. The bathrobe barely reached to the critical areas and wouldn't close around my waist. Not even close. It might have fit my 9-year-old granddaughter. Maybe. Not a problem, for sure a good laugh. To characterize a bit further: As I was hiking down the steep hill from the bus station to Casa dos Cucos in the rain, I contacted Miguel to let him know I was about 20 minutes from checking in, as he had asked me to do. Unbidden, he called me back, figured out where I was, told me to stay put for a couple of minutes, and came to pick me up in his car! How cool was that for him to do?

Gonçalo is really nice and helpful, giving tips on what to do and I even went to surf with him it was great !

This has to be one of my favourite stays in my 3 months solo travelling through Europe, so much so I’ve been back twice. Once with their surf and yoga package and the second time just as a stay. Each experience has been wonderful, the property is beautiful, well kept and clean. It’s a dream home

Very good hostel.in a very good location. Staff is very kind and is two steps to rhe ocean.. I strongly recomend .

Thank you so much to David for having us to stay. I cannot recommend this place enough. Everything was perfect. From the breakfast provided (buffet style) to the comfortable beds and spotless bathrooms. The thought and love put into every detail of the hostel makes it feel more like a home. All the kitchens are fully equipped with everything you need to cook at home. By far the best accommodation I’ve stayed in. David is a kind and attentive host who goes out of his way to help with anything. We also really enjoyed the surf lessons and will most certainly be back.

Super nice hosts, super nice place, good vibes

The staff were superfriendly and welcoming! The location is top and the hostel is very clean. Perfect spot for anyone looking to meet others, surf or chill in the city.

A very welcoming personal/owner who made me immediatly fell home. The guest house is very fresh, clean and cozy in all way, There are clear set up rules to be followed by all guests to make the stay as pleasant as possible. The location is very central in Odivelas one of the nice part of Lisboa/Lissboa. I can recommend this accomodation even for families of maximun 6 persons. It was perfect for us to be there.
