Freddie and Ester are a truly lovely couple running a business in a stunning location. They are 100% genuine and welcoming and look after you from the moment you enter their home. My daughter was suffering from mild altitude sickness, and they shared a local drink to help settle the stomach and served her food in our room. They want you to have the best possible experience and will share their local knowledge to help you achieve this. Freddie offers a tour of his coffee plantation at 4pm, and after learning the secret of growing, preparing, roasting and grinding coffee beans, you will stop to enjoy the flavour of the coffee you have with seen in the process. We were walking to Machupicchu and Freddie kindly arranged for our rucksacks to be sent on ahead to Electrohidra so that we could cross the mountain without the weight... What a Godsend this was. This 2-day stop was the highlight of our walk along the Salkantay Trail. Thank you.

Looking for a hostel?

Budget travellers know that there is no better way to make the most of their trip than by staying at a hostel: save money for exploring during the day, and swap stories with fellow backpackers in the shared kitchen or bar in the evening. Dorm-style bedrooms with shared bathrooms are standard hostel fare, but private rooms are also available for those willing to pay a bit more.

The bunk beds are comfy with a privacy curtain, a lamp and power point. The dormitory had its own shower and toilet inside the room. The hostel is nicely decorated with a lot of beautiful and colourful murals. The staff at the reception was really nice. Breakfast was simple and not much, but just what you need for an early morning start. There free tea all day. The location is by the river on the small square.
