Easily one of the best hostels I’ve stayed in Sri Lanka! absolutely lovely and lively atmosphere, ideal for solo travellers and people who like to socialise. Plenty of activities and tours available and the owner is the most genuine guy who will go above and beyond to care for his guests. The location of the hostel is just perfect, just a few steps from supermarkets,restaurants and train station and a short walk from all the beautiful hikes around Ella. Facilities were high quality and comfortable, the rooms and washrooms are cleaned daily. The wifi reaches the rooms and was very reliable all the time. Hot water always available, A/C in the dorms and a simple breakfast included. Despite the prices of the beds being on the higher side, I would absolutely stay here again.

Comfortable and spacious dorm bed - feels like a room in itself. Stunning views of the mountain and the waterfall. I love sleeping and waking up to the sound of nature here. The owners are very lovely and makes sure you have all you need for a comfortable stay. They also arrange trips for you to town since it's up the mountains away from the busy streets which I absolutely love. You may not even want to get out of the hostel because the place is so stunning on its own. I feel very relaxed here.

I absolutely loved this hostel, its location is so peaceful and I spent most of my days just watching the rice paddy workers and hanging out. So much nicer than being in Ella itself and the walk in was beautiful, definitely worth the slight inconvenience. Also free breakfast and dinner! Allowed you to do own laundry for 200 rupees only.

The place is absolutely magical, the house is surrounded by nature and you can enjoy the peace and calm there. Lahiro and his mate are really helpful and they just make your stay the best, totally grateful to have spent such a good time there. The food is amazing and really big portions, highly recommended!!

We had an amazing stay at 4 Axes Hotel! The food was delicious with both Sri Lankan and Western options. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. The room was clean, spacious, and very comfortable, perfect for relaxing after exploring Ella.
