I’m only now writing a review for Shiori place, however this was my first introduction to Japan, and one of our favourite experiences of our whole 2 month trip throughout the country. Not only is she the perfect host, super attentive, open, friendly unbelievably giving , but she went above and beyond what one could ask for from a stranger. After one night we extended our stay and she took us on a tour around the town, to museums, shrines, the beach and we shared several meals together, all of which only made us sadder to leave her. The house is beautiful, has everything you could want from a guesthouse and the traditional interior decoration of Japanese homes. We hope we have formed a friendship for a long time to come and we will never forgot our wonderful stay with her. Please do not hesitate to book, even if it is for a short stay, you won’t regret it. Everything was amazing! The staff was incredibly kind and welcoming, they help you out when exploring food options and just generally navigating the area :) everyone was very kind to me there. The beds are quite big and the mattress is comfortable, the blanket is super soft! You also get a second blanket in case it gets too cold. The showers were always clean, as well as the toilets and the common area/ sinks. Slippers are provided as you can’t enter with your outside shoes. They can also keep your luggage before check-in, which was very convenient for me. I will miss the kind people working there, as well as the general vibe- it was a very homey hostel
