It was a traditional Japanese style ryokan ( guest house ). They have both single room and double room and they were all spacious enough. You may be not see any staffs or manager when you arrive, but dont worry because you’ll easily find your room because of detail notes on room’s door. The manager, which was a very kind auntie, will try to come to say hello at least one time.

The double room we had was large and the facilities were amazing, clean and looked new. Everything you need is there, including nicely filtered and chilled water, and a window to watch the cats in the cats shelter! There is an amazing sake bar downstairs. I think it is only open on Friday and Saturday so plan ahead of you want to go to this gem. The location of the hostel is convenient and central. A JR train to Hakata is only a 13 min walk away. I would definitely recommend this great accommodation and I will definitely go there again if I am ever back in Fukuoka!
