I really like the concept of sleeping pods, bed was comfortable. It is easy to check-in if you come late. Hostel is very nice, friendly staff. They have pool/snooker room. I like that visitors have to remove the shoes at the entrance, this is how it should be everywhere.

Set a 10-minute walk from central Akureyri, this family-owned hostel offers basic rooms with a TV and free Wi-Fi access. Iceland’s Ring Road/Route 1 is right next to the hostel.

Big room for a group, very great and comfy beds. Plenty of shared, very clean bathrooms. There is little contact with the staff but a very good experience overall.

Situated in central Akureyri, Akureyri Backpackers offers free Wi-Fi and rooms with access to shared bathroom facilities. A swimming pool and hot tubs are a 1-minute walk away.

We liked the hostel although it was not in our plans. We were stuck in Akureyri due to weather conditions and wrong tires in the rental car and stayed for one night there. Luckily, one of the staff , Ewa from Poland was there and everything was sorted out! She is not just kind but caring and genuinely helpful. The sightseeing of Akureyri is Ewa!
