Great location, lots of fliers advertising things to do in and around Edinburgh. Rooms were warm and spacious with big lockers and a space under and beside the bunk beds for bags as well.

CoDE Co-Living - The LoFT is set on Rose Street North Lane, just a short walk from Princes Street. It offers modern interiors within a red brick-clad period building.

Really clean, modern hostel. Super private beds with curtains and walls which made it really comfortable. Nice relaxed common area with good facilities, really good central location making everything walkable and really lovely staff!

I like that the hostel has a list of daily activities for every guest. You don't have to have an agenda when visiting Edinburgh, just stay in Castle Rock, and your entire week will be fun. If you want a chilled and relaxed evening, there are games and an in-house cinema for you. If you want fun and hyper, there are arrangements to experience the best nightlife. If you want outdoor hikes and tours, that's also available. The staff are friendly, proactive, and professional. You can ask them the same question 1001 times, and you'll get a polite response each time. The information sharing about booking and the facility was adequate, and the response to messages was very timely.

Just 50 metres from Edinburgh’s bustling Princes Street, Haystack Hostel is set in a renovated 18th-century Georgian building.

Very clean and tidy. Accurate kitchen facilities. Helpful and smiling receptionists (Helen found me in the street and helped me to get to the hostel, thanks!) Central position. Silent rooms. Polite and friendly guests. I booked 2 night in female 6 bed dorm. March low season.

The whole staff were just the nicest people ever, making sure that everything was good, helping me with directions and customs as a first-time hostel traveller. It's cosy and warm and welcoming. The location of the hostel is amazing - everything is reachable on foot or with busses. I will recommend it to anyone looking for a comfortable, a bit rustic, and authentic place to stay in Edinburgh.
