Great location, everything is brand new and clean. Fully equipped kitchen which is great. The dorm had AC at night and curtains. The staff are very welcoming and helpful - thank you Ronald, Aron and Marimar!

The place honestly surprised me in the best way. The staff were insanely helpful — anything I needed, they handled right away and always with a great attitude. I really felt welcomed and taken care of the whole time. Wish more places worked like this. Totally recommend.

The owner was marvelous. He gave lots of great recommendations for several activities and does not want to sell tours like lots of others. Just perfect!!! This made our trip perfect and I highly recommend the hostel for everyone who goes to La Fortuna. The rooms were clean and we had a nice balkony to sit outside. It is a great hostel to get to know others.

Everything was great. People made my stay there, they were so open minded. There was a volunteer AJ who was so helpful that I can't imagine anyone being more helpful.

I absolutely loved this hostel! It was super spacious with lots of nice hangouts and a beautiful view of the river. It had a chilled but friendly vibe so it was easy to meet other travellers but nice and quiet when you want to sleep. The kitchen was really clean and well equipped - there were plenty of hobs so even at busy times you don't have to wait to cook. I loved having the gym for morning workouts too!

We had an absolutely amazing time at Blackout Hostel. Most notably, the location and the staff/people. Just a couple minutes walk to the city center with nice restaurants, bakeries, and shops. Also about 10-15 minutes walk to this spectacular waterfall where everyone goes to jump off the rocks and swing from the Tarzan rope. Tony, the owner, was so kind and welcoming. We spent every night chatting in the main room with the other guests and even went out all together at the club next door. If you're looking for a fun time focused on experiences, this is the place to be.

The people are very friendly and make you feel welcome. They give good advice for trip and transportation. You can book directly with them. Dorm was clean, bed was fine and facilities also. I recommend if you come to La Fortuna. Best price in the city I think and for a quality hostel with nice people.
