The manager was incredibly attentive, always stopping by our table or greeting us when we passed by to ensure everything was perfect with our stay. This thoughtful attention made us feel truly cared for and welcome. The rooms were clean and comfortable, and the overall atmosphere of the villa was so peaceful. If you're looking for a cozy and hospitable place to stay near Sigiriya, Sunshine Villa is a fantastic choice. Highly recommended!

There is an in-house restaurant, plus free private parking and free WiFi are available. The accommodation features a shared kitchen and full-day security for guests. We had a wonderful stay at this unique accommodation right in the middle of the jungle! With rooftop viewpoints, a tranquil pool, and outstanding service, this place truly offers a special experience. Even though it's located a bit off the beaten path, the atmosphere more than makes up for it—you might not want to leave at all. The included breakfast was so generous it practically lasted us all day. In the evening, there was a great selection of local and Western dishes made with high-quality ingredients (though portions were on the smaller side). The peaceful pool area was perfect for unwinding, and the staff really took Sri Lankan hospitality to the next level. Occasional evening power fluctuations were handled smoothly with a temporary diesel generator, but it switched off well before bedtime, leaving only the soothing jungle sounds. For mobile work, this place may not be ideal—the Wi-Fi relies on a mobile connection, which wasn't strong enough for demanding online tasks. But for a relaxing holiday segment in Sri Lanka, this place gets our full recommendation! We arrived by public bus from Kandy, changing at Dambulla, and then took a Tuk Tuk from the Sigiriya bus stop to the accommodation for 1000 rupees. During our stay, we rented a scooter in Sigiriya, while other guests used rental Tuk Tuks to get around.

After somewhat difficult arrival because of the night rain and small car we had :-) we were kindly welcomed by our nice host Kumari, with whom we had an really interesting evening conversations during our stay. The room is nice and equipped. The breakfast was very good, freshly prepared, with local specialities. Located in a small settlement inside the jungle, one can really enjoy the nature around - and visit Sigiriya and surroundings.

She cook fantastic Sri Lankan cuisine with love. She has a nice smile every time she meets with the guests. Simple be there and feel home.

This home stay is just everything u need in Sigiriya. perfectly located in the middle of the village. The hosts are very attentive and help a lot if u want to arrange activities or transportation for a fair price (arranged 4:45 am tuktuk for sunrise hike, safary, transport to Dambulla and other cities. They also offered us a dinner for 1800 rupees, which was cheap compared to local restaurants and the best food we had in the area!! Price value ration is definitely good, especially since u ought to pick an accommodation in this range cause entrance fees and activities are quite pricy there. Highly recommend!

They went over and beyond to make sure we had the best experience of the Sigiriya area. This booking is much more than just accommodation, it's a full immersive, local host experience. What you wish for when you travel to a new country - to get a genuine local experience. You should definitely book this!!!
