Hiro really made us feel welcome in his home, and greeted us with lots of kindness. The garden has a lovely pond and the little dog is so sweet! I really recommend Hiro place for an authentic and lovely experience in Japan. Hope we can come back again in the future. Thank you Hiro!

I think it was my best sleep in any hotel I have ever stayed in. There is also an electric heater under the futon, if you need one. Just like other reviewers mentioned, In the morning we were given a breakfast that was not included in the price. It contained meat, bread, multiple vegetables and fruits. Again, the best breakfast I ever had.

You also have the possibility to leave your luggage in the accommodation before and after check-in and check-out. Highly recommended.

The place itself is stunning, and in the evening it reaches an almost unreal sense of calm. Being by the lake as the sun was setting was an extraordinary experience. It’s definitely worth staying at least one night (but ideally more—there’s so much to do, especially for those who love nature and hiking). The guesthouse is very comfortable and extremely clean, even in the shared areas. There is great attention to detail. The staff were incredibly kind and truly helpful. A wonderful place.

Masayuki, our host, was extremely kind and accommodating, and was able to recommend great and safe hikes in the area, and very kindly looked after us. The upper story of the house where we stayed had such a traditional and nostalgic feel, and also had a full kitchen which allowed us to cook meals at home, and enjoy the beautiful space. Everyday our host would give us fresh strawberries and spend time chatting with us about art, the town, and local culture. It is also within walking distance to a local hotel onsen, which was a large part of our nightly routine while staying.
