In addition, the location of the guesthouse in ideal as you can walk to many places such as the famous tree, the library and the onsen itself. Also, the room is spacious and the bed is comfy. We chose Kikuchi instead of Kumamoto, to get away from the city before our trip to Mt Aso. We got a lovely country house, but the main benefit was the lovely couple who hosted us. Super friendly and helpful. I enjoyed breakfast, my wife skipped hers, so the host packed it as a bento box for our lunch. Vegetables from the garden. A guided visit to the forest to see fireflies. Tastes of local food and drink. It was if we were lodging with my favourite aunt and uncle.

The best cheese cake and very cozy place!

We are delighted with the friendship and dedication with which the Suhsi House is run. If you want to experience sushi at the next level, you've come to the right place. The sushi master looks at sushi omakase, which roughly means "the chef's choice", i.e. the chef prepares the menu according to the seasonality and availability of the ingredients. The evening was simply fantastic. You can reach the accommodation perfectly by underground from Fukuoka, it is also a perfect starting point to explore the Itoshima Peninsula. The accommodation is very well maintained, clean, new and even has free coffee and tea. There is also a fridge for storing products. The bedrooms are typical Japanese, so a bit smaller and with futon (which were very comfortable). I 100% recommend a stay and definitely try the sushi. The warmth and dedication is just fantastic. It is situated 1.4 km from Amami Park and provides a shared kitchen. The guest house has family rooms. hosted by a lovely couple. also if you not speak japanese there is no problem to make things happen, super helpful and supportive. Now my second time and my go for place to stay on this beautiful island. i enjoy the tatami room, but also there is one room with a western bed. a kitchen with everything what is needed to prepare food and tea / coffee. I hope you enjoy this place like I do.

Staying here is just an incredible experience, the home is stunning and fun to explore, the views are great and the hosts are incredibly friendly and welcoming. Our only wish is that we had stayed even longer.
