What a great choice this was. Being on an island it is far from the noise and smells of Aswan and the pace of life is so much slower. It's only a short ferry ride from Aswan itself but you are transported back to a better place to be, especially if you want to have a peaceful and relaxing stay. All the staff at the guest house were great and went out of their way to help. They organised my ferry trips and car to Luxor. Breakfast is made fresh everyday and the homemade jam and bread were the highlight each morning. After which I had a very good hot shower before beginning my day. I hope to return to Egypt later in the year and I'll be back through Aswan and I'll definitely come back to the Mango Guest House.

We loved our stay with Abu, who is an exceptional host. Elephantine Island is a beautiful oasis with extremely friendly locals. The guests house is clean and provides a cozy, family-like atmosphere. I would have stayed here longer if that was possible.

We had a warm welcome, the staff are all excellent, very hospitable and helpful. The rooms were clean and the view picturesque. The Island has a nice and relaxed nubian vibe. There is a nearby grocery store that is very convenient and delicious restaurants nearby serving nubian food. For anyone wondering. It is easy to reach by boat at al hours either by public or private boat and if you are uncertain ask the guest House and they will help you out. They also helped us arrange experiences in the area such as Abu Simbel and boat rides. I can recommend taking a boat ride with some of the young guys working here to the nubian Village i.e. They also have a very good breakfast at a resonable price.

The rooms were great; bathrooms were tiny but very clean. The guest house is located right beside the ferry. WiFi connectivity was excellent. Esraa was very friendly and eager to help; she would ask for our breakfast time and have it promptly ready by then. Would definitely recommend this clean gusethouse.

We had a few difficult requests due to our tight schedule. Kafana helped us get the laundry done within 24 hours (we were due to leave at the break of dawn the day after) He also helped us arrange for transport for a very early train (7.30am) and even brought us not just to the trains station, but all the wait to our seat inside the train itself.
