Hrabusice is the best base for a visit to Slovensky Raj and exploring the Spis region. Some hiking trails (Hornad canyon, Sucha Bela) are walking distance from the village, for the rest you would need a car as public transport is limited outside summer holidays. Due to some mix up with the booking Peter (the host) arranged for us to stay in an apartment in another part of the village. It was an upgrade as we had a whole very comfy apartment with kitchen to ourselves. Communication with Peter was fast and reliable and the proposed solution more than satisfactory! Tip for visitors: since April 2024 local tourist tax (2 euros per person per night) allows free entry to paid sites in Slovensky Raj and includes insurance for mountain rescue costs.

Three fridges with freezers, two cookers, plenty of pots, cups, plates, etc. Common area with fireplace, TV, table football and self-service beer machine. We spent 2 nights in the Penzión in July 2024 and it was very hot outside. We got rooms facing the north, so the room was very pleasant during the night. During the day we could use the fan. The Penzión is located in a beautiful area at the parking lot and bus stop to the Slovak Paradise Cingov entrance. It can easily reached by local bus too. The Penzión has a very nice big restaurant with great selection of local specialities and very reasonablt prices. The breakfast is also very nice and fresh - we chose different dishes from the set menu. Freindly staff, great experience.
