Above and beyond expectations and previous reviews were great. Beautiful environment, and a balcony better than any other we've found, superbly clean.owner and his wife are wonderful hosts, home cooked food was the best we've tasted in Sri Lanka. A dream place, we are already planning our return trip. We've stayed in many places in Sri Lanka, this is the best and incredible value.

Our hosts were the absolute best. They invited us to their family new year celebrations and we were honored to join them. The food they prepared for us on both nights was delicious and adapted to our taste. They helped us with hiking trips and organized each activity we wanted to plan. The mud chalet was clean, comfortable, nicely decorated and we felt very much at ease.

Mystay is a lovely rustic place set among trees and birdsongs. The room is quaint. There is a sitting room, a bedroom and a shower room with back-to-nature theme. 😍. All rooms are nicely decorated. There is a wall fan if one feels hot. At this time of the year, the temperature at night was nice and cool. 😊 There’s a hot shower which is a nice touch. There is an open treehouse dining area which is nice. 😍 The host, Prashan, was attentive to the guests. He showed me to Boella waterfall which is a Very nice waterfall with several swimming spots. 😍 As it is only a 1 night stay, I could not see the other attractions in Mawanella. I shall be back to see the other attractions. I had lunch and breakfast at Mystay and they were delicious.

A very relaxed and comfortable place to stay. The hotel staff is very friendly and helpful. And they treated us with delicious breakfast. Overall it is a very tidy and clean place with a beautiful view of mountains and greenery.

Exceptional stay! Mr Kushala and his wife really care about their guests – their homestay is incredibly clean, in a big beautiful house on a hill 5mins outside te busy traffic of Kandy's main streets. There are all kinds of fruit trees in the yard and you'll see monkeys and squirrels in the trees, and if you're lucky be lulled to sleep by the gentle chattering of the fruit bats. My room was spotless and had a lovely balcony that looked out into the trees, so peaceful and a great spot for a calming tea. The breakfasts were outstanding, so huge and delicious and different every day, as were the dinners I ordered. You really become part of the family. And Mr kushala is very willing to give you lifts to or from the station, or do a tour to where you want to go around or outside of town. Love seeing how much passion they have for Kandy and Sri Lanka!
