Amazing place. Great service, the family is so kind and really does everything to make your stay the best it could be. They helped me with arranging a reliable and friendly driver to get from the airport to the guest house, and we stopped multiple times so I could try local fruits, so sweet. The son of the household showed me around Mihintale, and the parents provided a lovely meal every morning and evening at my requested time - absolutely amazing food that will keep you going for days haha! The room was very nice and clean. I was looking for something a bit more fancy, and definitely got what I was looking for and for a great price. Super comfortable bed and pillows, soft sheets and a nice bathroom. Environment is super calm and great if you're looking for some peace and quiet. Peacocks, chameleons and beautiful butterflies all around, you can spot everything from the comfort of your breakfast table. Honestly couldn't think of any improvements!

Sidhangana Homestay was one of the highlights of our trip! The hosts are absolutely fantastic—so warm, welcoming, and genuinely caring. The husband was kind enough to give us a tour, which led us to Mihintale, one of the most breathtaking places we visited. This unexpected experience made our stay truly special. On top of that, our friend was very ill during our stay, but the host took amazing care of her, going above and beyond to make sure she was comfortable. Their kindness and hospitality were truly heartwarming. The breakfast was outstanding—delicious, fresh, and the perfect start to the day. The rooms are simple but comfortable enough for a short stay, making this homestay a great choice. Overall, we had an incredibly positive experience and would highly recommend Sidhangana Homestay to anyone looking for a warm, welcoming place to stay!

Janaka is THE host—truly exceptional in the hospitality scene in Sri Lanka. He is incredibly kind and welcoming, making us feel completely at home, while also being highly professional and attentive to all our needs. He went out of his way to help us plan our days in Mihintale exactly as we wished—and what he managed to organize for us was no small feat! He was also genuinely concerned for our safety throughout our stay: while Sri Lanka is a very safe country, his attentiveness was still much appreciated. The food cooked by his wife was amazing—made with quality ingredients, prepared beautifully, and full of bold, authentic flavor. Easily one of the top three meals we had in Sri Lanka. If you're planning a trip to Anuradhapura or Mihintale to explore the sacred Buddhist sites, and you're looking for something authentic and off the tourist trail, stay in Mihintale. It's rich with temples and spiritual atmosphere. Stay at Janaka’s place, ask him for advice, and you won’t be disappointed.

Very hospitable and kind owner, helped us from the moment of booking and check-in. Also, thank you very much for accommodating us with a dog (this is rare) The family room is very spacious and equipped with everything you need, we even watched a movie via HDM cable. From the balcony we looked at the stars and enjoyed the evening, there is a refrigerator in the hotel, which also helped to preserve food and fruit. Everything went just great, we will definitely stay here again when we come! And there is also a small lake nearby, in which fish live (just like a house park)

The food was absolutely amazing and plentiful - I was served traditional Sri Lankan breakfast with hoppers, string hoppers, curry, and fresh tropical fruits that exceeded all my expectations. The portions were generous, more than I could finish in one sitting. Fonseka isn't just a host but a very knowledgeable tour guide who went above and beyond to enhance my stay. He recommended hidden local gems not found in tourist guides, shared fascinating historical details about Anuradhapura's ancient sites, and arranged transportation that made exploring effortless. His insights about the Sacred Bo Tree and Ruwanwelisaya stupa added tremendous value to my visit. My room was spotlessly clean with comfortable bedding and effective air conditioning - essential after long days exploring in the Sri Lankan heat. The garden setting provided a peaceful atmosphere for relaxation. I felt safe and genuinely welcomed throughout my stay. The value for money was exceptional considering the personalized service and included breakfast. Without hesitation, I would strongly recommend everyone looking for an authentic experience to stay at Fonseka's place when visiting Anuradhapura. It truly made my Sri Lankan adventure memorable.

The family went above and beyond to make my stay amazing. Helped me with train ticket, gave me a lift to where I wanted to go, and served delicious food. The house is completely new, in a quiet location and from the roof you can see some of the temples of the sacred city. Lovely spacious rooms. I would love to come back.
