Sinharaja Forest Lodge is the perfect getaway for nature lovers! The lodge is nestled right next to the Sinharaja rainforest, offering a peaceful and refreshing atmosphere. The stay was super nice because the room/cabin I had felt like my own apartment and it was perfect to be so close to nature and do the day trips to Sinharaja forest (which the host organized for me) and everything was cared for like a lunch pack and super delicious dinner on request- and great food every morning anyways:)) all of the people working at Sinharaja rest were so kind and helpful! Unrelated to the host, just about the experience in the immediate area: The area around is like a village, then town with paddy fields and everyday life happening, no jungle, that’s only when you enter the Sinharaja reserve with a guide. But that’s the case for all stays in that area.

The location is idyllic, surrounded by breathtaking natural beauty—it truly feels like stepping into a peaceful oasis. The rice and curry were delicious, with generous portions. From the moment I arrived, I felt warmly welcomed and was invited to swim in the river. The staff were incredibly helpful and attentive to everything I needed. A truly wonderful experience!

If you are a nature lover,this is the best place you should be.....I spent some wonderful days at Rainforest Mount Villa. The view and landscape is something special-amazing - the villas are right inside the rain forest!!!! And the balcony on the riverbank it was something I really enjoyed. Sarath - the owner of this lovely place, its an amazing man, an excellent jungle guide, professional, generous, and very friendly. It was really nice days that we experienced and we felt right welcome. Finally, there were great tips for our further trip. When we missed the bus just a little, he even drove it miles behind him, so we still get him.

We stayed here for two nights, doing a guided tour in between. It was a super good stay. Usually, the owner himself does the guided tour. In our case, he was already booked, so his father guided us. He was a great guide, with a lot of love for the forest and a lot of knowledge after guiding people around for already over 20 years. After the tour, we had delicious food, served at the new guesthouse of the owners brother (Wildlife Kingdom, we did not sleep there but it looked also very comfortable with a great view). All other meals were also prepared by the owners wife, and after spending two weeks in Sri Lanka we can say that that was the best food we have had so far! We stayed on the top floor, which was very comfortable. Of course, being close to nature means there will be insects, so be prepared for that ;) Thank you for hosting us!

We only got the room, but it was excellent value for money. Room facilities were good and the bed was very comfortable. The owner was incredibly friendly and welcoming, going above and beyond to provide us with great hospitality. We particularly enjoyed learning more about the Sinharaja Forest from the insightful books they provided. The weather during our stay was also ideal – not too hot or too cool, which made exploring very pleasant. The overall peaceful atmosphere of the location was also a big plus, allowing for a truly relaxing stay
