In more qiet place out of town but with many shops and eateries in few hundred meters away. Lake is just nearby. Very nice and cooperative staff. Light bfeakfast included. All needed facilities and cleanliness.

A very nice homestay and close to the center. Spacious room, equipped with air conditioning, fan, television and even a kettle to make your own tea. Room is very clean. For breakfast you can indicate your preference and it is served in your room. The owner is very nice and speaks good English. He can also arrange all kinds of other things for you (without high commission) such as the ferry to the other islands or a scooter. Excellent price quality ratio. Recommended!

Fantastic family run guesthouse/homestay, with clean rooms, along with very helpful staff! stayed here for 8 nights, and the family who run the place treat you as part of their own family, always checking if you are ok/need anything, sorting out all airport transfers, ferry, taxi, rickshaw and water sport bookings (for very good rates so you don’t get ripped off!). Relative to other guesthouses I have been to on my travels in India, I found the rooms to be clean, spacious and were mosquito free (they install the plug-in mosquito repellent). Bathroom shower also had good hot water supply. Rooms have air con and fan, which is great as it is hot/humid on the island. Food is available, and for lunch you can order from a local restaurant and they deliver to your room. For dinner, would highly recommend the homemade food, tastes fantastic and is fresh! Their tea is also very good! From the guesthouse, it’s a 10-15 min walk to main roads where there are hotels, fruit markets, shops etc. The best thing about this place is the family who run it. They were very welcoming, helped me to plan my trip, booked all ferries to other islands and water sport activities, and recommended restaurants. Thanks for a great stay!

Comfy room, nice shower. Owners are very nice people, they were very communicative and helpful. They even made us a little bag with breakfast when we had to leave early for our flight. Highly recommend!

The staff and people were good. They don't speak or understand English so it was a challenge. But luckily I had people who spoke Hindi and they hit it off immediately. Super close to the airport. Beware of taxis at the airport, they charge you Rs 300 for a 5 minute ride. But the roads are pretty steep otherwise you could literally cross the road from the airport and walk to Kanchan's nest.
