Ryan and Danny were awesome and very knowledgable hosts and the cooking staff were very talented and friendly. The hiking was unparalleled and the view from our rondavel was breath-taking. We had no reason to leave and immersed ourselves in the experience for several days of hiking, swimming and relaxing. If you enjoy hiking and aspire to hike the Central Drakensberg mountains, this is THE place to stay.

Furthermore, it is one of the cleanest and most well-maintained accommodations we have ever stayed in, where you won’t find a speck of dust. The hosts are very kind and polite, always ready for a little chat and willing to help when needed, and they gave us great recommendations for hiking routes and restaurants.

The Manor has been lovingly designed and handcrafted using Pin Oak, Cypress, and Kiaat timber from surrounding forests. The unique combination of traditional, contemporary, and comfortable features, includes spacious rooms, intimate dining, a cozy bar with a fireplace for that colder mountain night,s and a gallery library for lazy days. Malachite Manor is a place where you can truly kick back in style. Breakfast was good. Portions were a bit more but enjoyed all of it. The environment was just tranquil. I am definitely recommending it to friends and family. Access from main road is very good.

From the little treats left on the bedside to the rusk biscuits which were so thoughtful. Super friendly owners. This will definitely be a place I would want to come back to.
