Close to 来宮駅 Kinomiya Station just next to Atami. I could walk to Kinomiya shrine from the hotel. Nice view from the room seeing birds and squirrel and I could see the Hatsushima Island. It is very peaceful atmosphere around this area. The Hotel was clean and a nice big size. Private spring bath was great! There was a large window in the lounge room morning sun shine straight through. Owner of this hotel was very kind and helpful. I am very happy to find this Hotel.

Effective October 1, 2025, a lodging tax will be introduced by ordinance of Takayama City. In addition to the room charge, 100 yen per person per day will be charged. A few minutes walking from the train station and others touristic places, the location it's so convenient. The common spaces have many Ghibli stuff as decoration, so at some point you feel like you are in a friend's home. Staff are so kind and helpful when we need anything. Bunks has curtains so we have privacy at the dormitory. There is free coffee for everyone! This is the second time I get to Takayama and I loved it as the first time and the accommodation was outstanding for me.

They were keen to help with anything we needed and were proactive on helping us with our travel plans. From communications prior to our arrival to meeting our host and the entire stay, we had a wonderful experience! The kitchen is large and fully stocked, they have a washer and dryer, and the rooms were exactly as listed. Our host was courteous and the staff would keep the guest house super clean. They even gave us a bottle of fresh squeezed locally farmed mandarin juice, which was delicious.

The monk who runs the property was so helpful recommending local restaurants and giving advice and even gave us a lift to the station. There were free drinks including alcohol. The rooms are part of a temple. The hotel is very close to the main shrine and not far from the station so a great location. The place to stay in Shingu. Good value for money.
