Convenient location, accessible by tram (Chinatown station), not far to the main tourist destinations, and walkable from Nagasaki station (~15 mins). Room was clean and well-maintained overall. Washing machine and dryer are available to use at a reasonable price. Instructions for usage are clear and easy to follow. The reception / working area offers good views of Dejima and the Nakashima River. I particularly liked their self serve filtered coffee, it’s a nice unique perk that not many guest houses offer.

There is a space to cook your own food, which was very convenient! The bus runs through town, so you can easily catch it to go to Izuhara if you want. There are beautiful areas all around Yamaboushi that are great to check out!

The breakfast was delicious as well.

The living room is great and wants you to stay overlooking the rice patties all day long.

There are two toilets (a rare convenience in Japan) and the location is great for exploring. Manami helped us rent e-bikes and gave us wonderful day-trip plans and cultural insights we would never have discovered on our own. Staying here felt like touching the true spirit of old Japan while enjoying modern comforts. For us, it was a dream place. If you value kindness, authenticity, and quiet beauty, book Oteragoto—you’ll feel Manami’s heart in every corner. She truly deserves all the guests who will love this place as much as we did. 10/10.
