Andy and the staff at Dark Horse are helpful and friendly. The accommodation feels so cozy, it's a home away from home. I stayed in the hostel room and it's very clean and comfortable. There is even a TV in my little space that I could watch Youtube and Netflix on. They provide free transport to Happo-one, Goryu and Sanosaka ski resorts. If you want to go to the other ski resorts, the staff can drop you at Happo Bus Terminal where you can catch the free shuttle bus. Free breakfast is also provided.

Very clean and comfortable rooms, the owner cooks amazing food and took excellent care of us. He even showed us around town as we didn’t have a car, told us a bit about the towns history and was kind enough to take us to the train station when we left. 10/10 will be coming back if I get the chance!

his is one of the best homestays/minshuku I've stayed in Japan. The host is very responsive before, during, and after the stay. Even though the bathroom and showers are shared, all the facilities are clean and the amenities provided, such as coin laundry, a fully-stocked kitchen, and a cosy common area, really exceeded my expectations. AEON mall / supermarket is 5 minutes away and the JR station/bus terminal is about 20 minutes away on foot. Easy peasy in terms of access. Highly recommend!

The hosts were amazing! They were really helpful and friendly and made sure we had everything we needed. The home was unique as it was previously a cafe and it was sparkling clean and very comfortable. Lovely children's books and magazines.

A home from home with beautiful Japanese style bedrooms. it was our first time sleeping in a futon style bed, I was cynical about how comfortable it would be but it really was the best nights sleep! the kitchen is very well equipped and the hosts are so lovely ! They are happy to run you to and from the station in their car which is about a 30 minute walk from the accommodation .

Very cozy place! 下田san was extremely friendly and helpful. I had forgotten to take out cash for the payment. However 下田san offered to drive me to the ATM! I also highly recommend to get the breakfast.

Evertlything was very clean. Check-in and check-out process is quick and easy. Staff is very friendly and speaks english quite well, we had no trouble asking something, and we were given a great introduction to hotel's amenities. They have their own detailed map with recommendations for restaurants and tourist spots. Room itself is cosy and quite convenient for two people. They even provided a charger for the phone with two usb outlets. Japanese-style bed (which is a soft matress on the floor) was surprisingly very soft and we had no comfort issues with it. Location is great with quick access both to railway station and Matsumoto Castle.
