Be sure to go to the cafe on the first floor which is run by the same organization and is also very artsy and bohemian.

I had a wonderful stay at this guesthouse, warmly welcomed by the amazing hosts. The price–quality ratio is honestly one of the best I’ve ever experienced. The breakfast was absolutely delicious, and on my last day, Kami even prepared some homemade onigiri for me to take for lunch, they were so tasty and such a thoughtful gesture. I truly felt cared for throughout my stay. This was the best place I stayed at in Japan, and when I return to Amami, I will definitely come back here.

The hospitality was impeccable. The host was always available for everything. Probably witnessed the peak of Japanese culture (with people being helpful in every way possible) here. The host (without even us asking him for anything) found that our shoes were wet after a trek put them for drying (on a drying machine) only for us to find the shoes all dried up the next day. Unbelievable. The location is walkable from the port and has house had everything you’d need. The kitchen and the shower was equipped with everything that you’d need during your stay. The house was small but very clean. Would highly recommend.

Mori San is a very kind person ! I had a warm welcome and amazing stay. I had mechanical problem on my bike and he lent me his own bicycle to visit Kakeromajima (beautiful !). It was raining during my visit, thankfully the house is very cozy to stay indoors. The host’s family set up a cafe on random weekends in the space, and I hope I will have time to enjoy it someday!
