When we entered the property, met Elsa and checked in, I think the energy returned. The hot tub & sauna was a gift to my tired legs. Kitchen to room, everything was designed thoughtfully from a barn to a homestay and well equipped. Jfyi, the shower is common - but very big, spacious and clean. Hence it would not be an issue. If weather is nice and you are lucky, you may get to see some auroras too like us 😊

We stayed in the apartment and it was lovely and well-appointed. The little patio area in front was so nice since we were blessed with a beautiful day. Sitting outside with a coffee and watching and listening to the birds in the meadow right outside was delightful. We had been in Bakkagerdi earlier in the evening to view the puffins (1 million stars/10 on that experience) and this was the perfect place to spend the night, since it was less than an hour from there but also gave us a little bit of a head start on our clockwise ring road journey for the next day's travels.

You can play mini-golf at the guest house, and the area is popular for hiking. Outdoor play equipment is also available at Finnstaðir, while guests can also relax in the garden. Everything was great. Clean, spacious and comfortable. The next day we had a fantastic horseback riding trip with Helga, who paid us a lot of attention. Thank you.

The guesthouse, housed in a building constructed in 1907 and imported from Norway, exudes historical charm, having previously served as a clothing and convenience store, art studio, and café. Our room was a testament to Scandinavian minimalist design, featuring original wood furnishings that added warmth and authenticity. The private bathroom was well-appointed with a walk-in shower and complimentary toiletries. The highlight was the balcony, offering breathtaking views of the fjord and surrounding mountains, providing a serene backdrop to our stay. The guesthouse’s central location proved advantageous, with Seyðisfjörður Harbour and the iconic Blue Church just a short stroll away, making it an excellent base for exploring local attractions. The self-check-in process was seamless, allowing us to settle in without delay. Adding to the charm of our stay was a local cat that seemed to own the street. This regal feline often caught the attention of tourists, adding a unique and endearing touch to our experience.

Towels and bed linen are offered in the guest house. Beautiful room with a warm atmosphere. There was a water shut down in town. The staff were immediately there for us and the whole episode was sorted out within less than an hour

All rooms feature simple, modern décor and guests have access to a communal lounge, where free hot drinks are available at all times. Shared bathrooms include six showers and five toilets. The room was big, clean and comfortable. Even though there are shared bathrooms, we had a sink inside the room and it was perfect! The shared bathrooms were on every floor and they were very clean! The staff was wonderful and very helpful :) The breakfast was early, delicious and full of options :) There are huge common areas to sit, play and enjoy the evening. We had a self check-in and it was so helpful so we could arrive whenever we wanted. Everything was wonderful and we wish we had more time there.

This guest house provides a shared lounge. Very idillic place. It was so nice to enjoy the evening on the small shared terrace and listen to all the wild birds around. Incredible how many different sounds there were! The room was also very comfortable. Decent cold breakfast as well.
