Dating from 1947, Fonda Matía lies in the heart of the Cerdanya Region. It has its own pool, and offers spectacular views of the Cadí-Moixeró Natural Park and Cadí Mountains.

All of the rooms at the Fonda Matía come with central heating, a flat-screen TV and a private bathroom. Some also feature a private balcony and views of the town of Bellver de Cerdanya and the Natural Park. It was super cozy, and staff were friendly to us. It was scrupulously clean.

I stayed one night on my hike from Llívia to the wild thermal water springs at Fontpedrouse. I'd recommend everyone to take that hike, btw and visit the house and La Cabanasse this way. The Blue House is everything you would expect from staying in a Catalan mountain village in a nice renovated old house that's still feels old. What I liked about the house first, was that until you get your code and enter, I didn't really expect it to be so nicely to renovated inside. The photos of the interiors provided in Booking.com really do no good to the rooms. They are so much more lovelier and cozier. When I first entered the house, it almost felt that this house must be haunted. For me this is a huge compliment, btw. Needless to say, haunted it was not.
