Located right next to the Danube River in the centre of Weißenkirchen in the Wachau Valley, the Donauwirt offers accommodation with free WiFi access and free private parking. The Danube Bicycle Trail leads past the hotel. The location is excellent. Situated in a quaint and central village and right across from the bus stop and a beach along the river where one can swim. The rooms were spacious and comfortable and the breakfast was out of this world. The family who owns and manages this hotel go out of their way to serve their guests. We did not have a car while there and didn’t need one. Between the buses and the seasonal train, we were covered and able to go where we needed to go. The highlight was renting bikes and cycling through the villages and sampling wines along the way.
