The Cliff Villa Boutique Guesthouse exceeded our expectations. The property feels intimate with maybe 6-7 rooms, which we love, as it avoids the impersonality of large hotels. The rooms are spacious, beautifully decorated with tasteful interiors, and ours had the bonus of two balconies - one private overlooking the lovely pool area and another shared with a partial sea view. Both were equipped with comfortable chairs and a small table. The hospitality provided by our hosts, Elizma and Johan, was exceptional. They went above and beyond to accommodate us, allowing a late departure due to unforeseen work obligations - something we are incredibly grateful for. The breakfast was varied, delicious, and prepared with so much care and attention to detail. Additionally, the internet connection was totally reliable, which was crucial for us. The location is excellent, with the scenic Cliff Walk just a short 2-minute stroll away and you can walk to Hermanus in about 15 min while enjoying amazing views. While we didn’t use the pool due to the weather, the area looked inviting and well-maintained. We would definitely come back again and recommend staying here!

My stay at Valentines Hermanus was honestly the best experience I’ve had in a long time. A massive thank you to Greg and Helen —your warmth, hospitality, and attention to every little detail made this stay truly unforgettable. From the moment we arrived, we felt so welcome. The space was immaculately clean, with fresh towels provided every single day. It’s the little touches that really stood out—beautiful flowers in every corner, and the most delicious homemade rusks that made our mornings extra special. The care and effort put into maintaining the space is unmatched. You can tell Greg and Helen genuinely care about creating a home away from home, and it shows in every aspect of the stay. Our room was just superb - large, clean, modern and stylish with a great view over the ocean. In addition to tea/coffee, there were complimentary cookies and Lindt chocolates (a small thing that makes a difference!). We also loved the breakfast - very special toasts and muffins freshly made by Linda were unbelievably tasty. We stayed at other places in Hermanus before, and can reasonably say that Ridge House is the best. Highly recommended, and we plan to be back for a little longer stay!

We really enjoyed our stay in this guesthouse. It is located in a quiet place but very close to the town centre and with a shortcut access to the famous cliff path. Stefan and Nikki are very welcoming hosts and helped us a lot with valuable recommendations on how to spend time. The room has new equipment and is very comfortable. We were there in hot time, but there was always fresh wind from the ocean in the night. Also, very delicious breakfast with generous portions. Definitely recommend this place!
