Fadhil crafts delicious cocktails that quickly become your favorites. Ru introduced us to the rich flavors of Swahili cuisine—using incredibly fresh ingredients—and thanks to her, we fell in love with this food for the first time during our long trip. Marco oversees everything with care and calm, adding to the welcoming, homey atmosphere. Lucas and the gardener make sure the grounds/pool area are spotless and beautiful at all times. And then there’s Beth and Dullah, the amazing owners. They are simply wonderful—kind, helpful, full of great tips, and always ready to assist with anything from taxis to excursions. Their personal touch makes all the difference. If you're looking to experience Zanzibar at its very best, Mango Beach House is the place to be. We left with full hearts, relaxed minds, and memories we'll treasure forever. Highly recommended!

A hidden gem in Jambiani Beach. For us, the decision on where to spend our 4 days in Jambiani was between three different hotels. I am so glad we decided to stay at Zanzistar Lodge. This was also by far the cheapest out of the three options. The value for money can´t be beaten. We especially enjoyed the outside hammocks, the beach, the breakfast, the staff, the drinks and the cozy banana garden. Peter, one of the two managers, personally showed us every room. The luggage was taken care of by the staff and we even were invited to a welcome drink as we arrived. The beach bar has excellent food, great drinks and a perfect beach vibe. The beach was our favorite of all the beaches on the island. We went to Matemwe, Nungwi, Kendwa and Kizimkazi, but Jambiani was by far our favorite. The numerous colors of green and blue in the ocean is just spectacular. Thank you to all the staff that went out of their way to make us feel at home and took care of all of our needs. Take good care of them, as it is the people that make places like Zanzistar Lodge worth every penny. For us, we personally enjoy the small boutique hotels over the big resorts. The hospitality here was nothing else than outstanding. We hope to be back sometime in the near future.

What can I say, breakfast was extraordinary, plentiful, varied - you don't realise how fresh fruit really tastes until you've tried it here. The host, Haji, is very caring, helpful and dedicated to providing you with the best possible stay. If you want to go kite surfing, he's a professional instructor, if you want to go sailing on a local dhow, he can set you up with that too. It's Africa, the power will cut out from time to time, there's no generator on site, but go sit in one of larger beach cafés, they'll sometime have a generator, if you absolutely needs to have wi-fi or charge your devices at that very moment. Wow beach house perfectly situated between the beach and the local village. It is one house down from the beach and one house up from the village, so you get the best of both. The village has local restaurants and small shops where you can buy soda, snacks, fresh fruit etc., all very friendly. The beach front has lots of beach bars where you can sit, enjoy the ocean breeze, a cool drink or a meal.

Very helpful staff with plenty recommendations. Food is great. Jambiani beach has plenty to do from snorkelling to diving. The tide is out in the morning but you can walk out to it and still swim, and see the sea creatures in the leftover pools. Room cleaning is only by request but done well. No mozzie bites during our stay. a fantastic time and very happy ❤️

Since I read the book who the owner Dorota wrote, I really wanted to visit Vanilla House. And it was as I imagined, even better!!! The sound of the ocean at night...The breeze.. The food... The view... I loved it!!!!

Absolutely amazing place! Top location, in the heart of Paje, 5 min from the beach and restaurants! Very quiet, cozy, high quality ! Very clean, very big room and bathroom ! Beautiful garden , kind of jungle. You even can have espresso coffee, wich is rare in Paje! Highly recommended!
