I had the perfect stay at Mango House. It's a lovely house tucked behind the road into Talalla with a pretty garden & lovely seating area. The room was very comfortable with a large bathroom, nice bedding & a good mosquito net. It was especially nice to have a desk & chair. Breakfasts were delicious & an extra treat to watch the monkeys on their daily route to the roof tops. The family were so kind and accommodated my early rising for yoga with delicious juices : ) and I met some other lovely guests. They truly made us feel at home and very welcome. I was sorry I'd not discovered dinner was possible until my last night - my friend and I were served a delicious selection of curries. Such a pleasure to meet this lovely family & to share their home. They really cared that you had a good stay. The beach is just a short walk away & great shop nearby too. Great value and a warm welcome for the budget traveller.

The guest house is in the perfect location, just a couple of minutes to beautiful Talalla beach. The hosts are welcoming and friendly and made a very delicious breakfast and dinner. The room was comfortable and clean and it is great to have a balcony to sit and relax on. Would definitely come back if I was in the area again.

Because we love this place so much we returned for 3 more nights after our yoga-retreat. Immediately we felt like home again. The room has everything we need and is always very clean. The hospitality and awareness of this family is just incredible. Anu remembered our favourite dishes and every day we got a different one for dinner. Same with the breakfast. At the end they even got up in the middle of the night to give us a warm goodbye and a breakfast-parcel that we didn‘t stay hungry at the airport.

The very quiet Gardens, the lovely breakfasts, beautiful empty beach, lovely pool and courteous attentive staff. We had a gorgeous room with an out door,roll top bath. If you're looking for a quiet beach, this will hit the spot. The waves are strong so probably best for confident swimmers though you won't have to be an Olympian! The main house is also gorgeous with an airy colonial vibe. Evening meals can be taken at the beach restaurant over the road ( not a busy road). The place is gated with a 24hour watch for the security minded. Various swings, hammocks and board games dotted around. Peacocks, bee-eaters, monitor lizards and chipmunks abound. Heard a Coppersmith Barbet but didn't see it. Fruit bats fly over at sunset. Heaven!

We had an amazing stay. The family is super nice, helpful, warm-hearted and has always a big smile in their face. We felt very welcome here. The kitchen is very well equipped (best equipped kitchen we had in Sri Lanka). The room has a very comfortable bad with a sitting area were you can relax after a beach day. The outside area is nice to enjoy the sun or to have breakfast/lunch/dinner. The beach is walking distance (3 minutes), also supermarkets, shops, restaurants are walking distance and the bus stopp is just next street. We had some nice talks with the family and enjoyed ilour stay a lot. We warmly recommend this special familiar accommodation. :-)
