Our stay at Village Life Mihinthale was absolutely wonderful. If you're interested in exploring historical sites, this is the perfect base. The location is excellent, offering a clean and calm environment, and it's conveniently close to the beautiful Mahakanadarawa Lake. What truly made my experience special was the host, Gihan. He was incredibly friendly and went above and beyond to ensure I had a memorable time. He even guided me to a fantastic viewpoint to witness a breathtaking sunset over Mihinthale – a view I wouldn't have discovered otherwise. I'm so grateful for their warm hospitality and highly recommend Village Life Mihinthale to anyone visiting the area.

Janaka is THE host—truly exceptional in the hospitality scene in Sri Lanka. He is incredibly kind and welcoming, making us feel completely at home, while also being highly professional and attentive to all our needs. He went out of his way to help us plan our days in Mihintale exactly as we wished—and what he managed to organize for us was no small feat! He was also genuinely concerned for our safety throughout our stay: while Sri Lanka is a very safe country, his attentiveness was still much appreciated. The food cooked by his wife was amazing—made with quality ingredients, prepared beautifully, and full of bold, authentic flavor. Easily one of the top three meals we had in Sri Lanka. If you're planning a trip to Anuradhapura or Mihintale to explore the sacred Buddhist sites, and you're looking for something authentic and off the tourist trail, stay in Mihintale. It's rich with temples and spiritual atmosphere. Stay at Janaka’s place, ask him for advice, and you won’t be disappointed.

Definitely one of the best stays in Sri Lanka! Very nice place with a pool! Nothing better than a pool in these very hot days. The dorm is very clean and the bathroom too. Towel, toilet paper, wifi, AC - I couldn't wish for more. The breakfast is super delicious and big 🤤 Very quiet area surrounded by rice fields. The owners are really lovely ppl. Thank you ! 😉👍

We were so happy to have stayed here! The lovely family welcomes you with open arms. They arrange sightseeing tours, which was perfect because we only stayed one night. They served the best rice and curry we had in three weeks. We are really bummed to leave in only one day, otherwise we would’ve definately joined the cooking class. The rooms are spacious and clean.
