Happy Man Village is the best place to enjoy the real Sri Lankan experience. In this family run structure is possible to enjoy amazing meals made of fresh products from their lands, simple cooked and delicious. The staff is going to propose several activities to do in the area, in this way there is no need to settle anything since everything will be managed from them simplyfing our life. We really enjoyed the catamaran safari and the boat trip in the river close to the village. But the best thing is the attention from the staff to the guests, always smiling and being available to any possible requests. A special mention needs to be done to the young Baba he was always available and ready to help, bringing us small treats like smoothies and cocount, at any time of the day and showing us nice landscapes spots, along with the cinnamon and wild plants and animals in the surroundings of the village. Located in the middle of Kosgoda village, here we found the most authentic feelings.

This was a perfect calming experience. The cottage was comfortable and super clean. And the most valuable was the kindness and hospitability of the family, who host us. All the members of the family were opened to all our questions and were explaining about all plants, that are growing in their lovely garden.The garden is full of Ayurvedic plants and the housekeeper cooked us a delicious dinner using Ayurvedic plants and local ingridients.They offered us free transportation to turtle centre near by and explained about best local tours. We appreciate the whole experience and we were sorry we did not plan another day at this hospitable place.

I had an amazing stay at this hotel! The location is truly unbeatable.It offers a calm and private atmosphere, being right next to the beach, which made it perfect for relaxation. I had a wonderful stay at Goalie Beachfront Resort. It's a beautiful luxury resort with stunning views in every direction. What truly amazed me was how seamlessly it blends with its surroundings—offering breathtaking views of the Indian Ocean from the private front balcony, and serene views of the wetlands from the back balcony. One of my favorite moments was enjoying the delicious breakfast from the in-house restaurant while watching the sunrise over the wetlands. The food was absolutely delicious. The resort also features a tropical garden with coconut trees private swimming pool with a jacuzzi, where I spent some relaxing time sunbathing and unwinding. The staff were incredibly friendly and always available whenever I needed assistance. The resort is located near to Hikkaduwa town. There are many things to do around this area like snorkelling, turtle farm, river safari etc. Since it’s close to the main road, getting around is easy—whether by public transport or tuk-tuk. The staff even arranged our airport transfer at a very reasonable price. You can rent a scooter from here as well. I will definitely be coming back to this amazing place next year!

How can I even start… all the members of this family are literal angels. They’ll take care of you, show you around, make sure you’re never hungry, and give you the best possible experience. I was so lucky to meet them at the beginning of my trip; I ended up staying way longer than planned and even spent my birthday with them and we organised a trip together some time later. At this point, they’ve become family to me. Their property is located in a beautiful and tranquil area; if you like being close to nature and want an authentic Sri Lankan experience, this is the place. The rooms are well-kept and tidy, spacious, and cosy. There’s an adorable dog and lots of visiting animals, even parrots, who feed near the property’s gate every morning. Shamaylie, with the help of her daughters, cooks home made, healthy and very tasty meals, made from the local ingredients. The family will make sure that they offer you the food you like. I recommend to visit the Guesthouse regardless if you’re travelling solo or in a couple. You will always be treated with love, warmth, and generosity. Wik xx

Great place! We stayed 5 nights before going to the airport. The best reviews about the staff, who were ready to do everything to make us feel as comfortable and well fed as possible. The food was great, very tasty fish, tiger prawns and on the last night we were served a very tasty chicken curry. Note that no wine or cocktails are available here, but beer and soft drinks, fresh juices. The room was comfortable and spacious, with an exit to the pool. The pool is big, warm and very clean. The place is well-kept, the sea is nearby, fantastic. We will definitely be back.
