It was interesting that you got out to the terrace and there was your private toilet. I liked it, it was quiet and the location was great!

the owner was really nice and explained everything. There's a cute outside izakaya right next to it where you can get food and drinks. It's close to the port and there's a nice outside area with microwave and everything where you can eat.

Staff was very friendly and speak good English. They operate a shuttle service that can bring you and pick you up at the ports and beach of the island, which make going around a breeze, even for a solo traveler. Furthermore, the vibe was great and it was easy to make friends with other travelers. Definitely recommend!

Lovely place. I've never seen such beautiful beaches like in the Kerama Islands. And Homestay Kucha is in a quiet location, with very cute tatami rooms, a friendly owner, and excellent shower facilities - all at a reasonable price!

Our stay at Kucha was one of the highlights of our 8 week trip. Takaka-san is a very helpfull and sweet host and great cook. The traditional Japanese house has everything you need from snorkel gear to beach towels to a washing machine. It's not so far from the port, we rented bicycles but the hills are quite steep so the bus would also be an option. We really wished we could stay longer because it felt like paradise! Also, Kiki the cat is very cute.
