we were the only guests that night and though the room looked a bit different from the pictures, it was very good equipped. also, there are free drinks offered and a very nice guy working there, who gave us a ride to the station because of the rain. overall a great choice!

It’s really a nice and worth place to stay. I really happy that i got my luck to stay in this hostel. The hostel owner and staff is a friendly and mindful person. They will provide the pickup service between the station and the hostel, even the shirakawago also. I stay on the day of light-up even, I am luckily able to get the ticket also. I feel 120% good to stay here and many thanks for anything provided by the hostel ( transport and food)

The hosts were super friendly and welcoming. The guesthouse has a nostalgic flare, lots of wood, great atmosphere. We had ordered a veggie dinner and breakfast, and all was home made and good. We arrived after dark and after hours of rain on our motorbikes, and the hosts let us dry our gear in the main room which is much appreciated. // Our host also told us about the mountain road ahead which is forbidden for motorcycles. We were gutted but very happy he told us so we could plan our next day accordingly. // I would certainly stay again!

The absolute loveliest stay I’ve had in Japan. What a delight the hosts are - Glenda is an absolute gem and the loveliest. She used to tour around Japan as a singer! If you’re lucky enough, you can get her to sing a bit for you. Her husband is an incredibly talented chef and cooked us a huge and wonderful dinner - probably the best food I’ve had in Japan. Strong recommend!

Kota’s guest house and the stay at Kaminashi was definitely the highlight of our trip to Japan. The place is gorgeous and very comfortable, surrounded by nature. On top of it, Kota’s family was immensely kind to us and made us feel right at home. Arigato gozaimasu! I hope to stay there again in the future :)

Such an incredible place to stay - most people come to visit the Gassho villages on day trips but being able to do a homestay in the village itself was amazing and a truly unique experience. Our hosts were such a lovely couple, they went out of their way to make us feel welcome and tell us about their lives and experiences in the village. Even though we don't know Japanese, our hosts managed to tell us about food, music and the way of life in the village. We're both vegetarian and they went out of their way to make us a delicious meal out of local produce.
