Easy check-in and checkout, close to everything, and VERY good value for the money. Lots of onsen nearby for morning/night shower since the stay itself doesn't have any ways of showering. They also provide a towel set for onsen, which you can bring to the onsens so you don't have to rent. Parking is great too!

A very cozy hostel in a perfect location. It's well within walking distance of all the onsens and there are plenty of restaurants nearby as well. The hosts are incredibly kind and welcoming, and are more than happy to offer recommendations for how best to enjoy Kusatsu. One of the highlights of the trip was sitting around the table in the evenings and exchanging stories about travel and culture. Very much felt like a home away from home.

The room was clean and warm. There are no more than 4 people in the "hostel" style room. The location of the guesthouse is close to the center of Kusatsu, so it's easy to get around. The staff was also really helpful.
