The host Michiyo was the absolute sweetest and kindest lady. She brought my kids to her garden to pick fresh veges and was so warm. The place was beautiful, and made the experience immersive.

This place has incredible atmosphere. It used to be an elementary school until they closed it a few years ago. It’s all still intact, the blackboards, the gym, etc. A few minutes walk from the main Magome street. The bunk beds were comfortable. The staff was pleasant and friendly. Looking back, I wish I stayed longer than one night.

This accomodation is 11/10. It is spacious, beautiful, clean, inspiring and relaxing. It is one of those place that influence the whole trip to the better. To the best. The terrace, the bath tub, the rooms, I don’t even know where to start. It is so good. The host Takumi (and his family) are the most wonderful people ever. He picked up our luggage and drove us to the airport. That is crazy.

Just 40 metres from restored Edo-era post town Magome-Juku, Chaya Hotel has simple traditional rooms with futon bedding and a tatami-mat floor.

this pension is just like a warm and delicate home. Ken and Yuki are so nice. The whole design is cozy with kind consideration for tourists. I am lucky to arrive with the blossom sakura. The moutain clouds in early morning together with flowers look like a dream. Do take a look of thr farm also, the dinner rice is from there.

The modern touch was beautifully integrated into the old traditional feel of Magome. Very comfortable stay with a central location. The owner was kind enough to book us dinner for the night prior to our stay. If you are staying at this place, make sure to pre book your meal since dinner is not included and everything in Magome closes at around 5pm.
