The cottage was beautiful, wooden ceiling and walls with attractive creative design, the bed was warm and comfortable and the hosts charming, respectful, discrete and very quick to follow up on any request! Location is central to pedestrian centre of Shimla, so there are no traffic noises. It has been a very happy week for me here and I'm grateful to find a beautiful, peaceful retreat for my final week in India with such kind, considerate hosts.

WindmillInn is exceptionally beautiful place, it's located amongst the highest peaks of Shivalik ranges of the Himalayas, full far away views from the top of the mountain, easy accessible parking inside and great Hosts. The food is great, the rooms are nice and clean, full value for the money with the views from any corner of the place. They have a beautiful Cafeteria and chill zone, plus an outside garden lawn with great winter sun and Swings outside, i recommend to go and explore and forests and hikes around.

For anyone familiar with Indian 3-star hotels, this place is pretty standard. A small, clean room, a comfortable firm mattress, and very few frills. In this case, the bathroom is across the hall, which may be a negative for some. However, this didn't present as a problem for me. The main thing was it was clean and had tons of hot water. Unlike many 3-star places, my room had a spectacular view over the valley. Another outstanding feature was the staff. The young woman managing the hotel, Malvika, went above and beyond to ensure I was comfortable and enjoying my stay. Malvika speaks exceptional english and is a wealth of knowledge on the area and was able to facilitate services like a driver and provided a short list of sightseeing to maximize my very short stay. Similarly, the young man who carried my bags was super helpful, and whenever he saw me, I asked if there was anything I needed. Something that I haven't experienced at other hotels like this. Overall, it was an exceptional experience.
