This was such an amazing place. The owners Sarah and August welcomed us very friendly. We had a pickup at the bus station. The rooms were nice, spacious and comfortable. The food was tasty and for reasonable price. We did 3 days trekking with guide Bai and friends and had so much fun. We saw tons of animals including wild orangutan, siamangs, argus and turtles. The camping in nature was simple but very fun and the food was amazing. We felt like in a family. Thank you 🙂

It’s in the middle of the jungle. The guest house collects you from the bus and then take you by motorbike to the guest house. 15 mins of dirt bike tracks so not for the faint hearted! The place is so peaceful and situated footsteps from the river - which you can swim in, which borders the jungle. Wildlife all around is amazing - macaques, Thomas leaf and silver leaf monkeys - garden is beautiful and bar/restaurant is such a great friendly space and the Jungle Band played for us 😄 Bayu, the king of the jungle, helped us with the trek and onward travel, the guides, Bagus, Ali, Wise, Donny and everyone who works at Batu Kapel are stars!

Our stay here was amazing! The room is spacious, bed is comfortable, bathroom also nice and everything is clean. Also the room has a big balcony with incredible view. The staff was also great, we arranged everything we needed through them and it was not a problem. We also booked a one day jungle trek with them and it was excellent. Our guide Dani and his brother were good guides and also very nice people.

GREAT STAY AND EXPERIENCE EVER We would like to thanks to Bayu,aji and the Team for the incridable Job, It was amazing time in bukit Lawang. The place so cozy,quite and New. Breakfast was so good We do private jungle trekking for 3 days with them,Bayu has so much knowlodge about the jungle and medical plant and it was unforgotable EXPERIENCE nd definatly Comeback again They have other Guest House (Batu Kapal Guest House) which is a great place to stay and you can see wild Orang utan just next from your room We Highly reccomend this place Regards Linda and jay

I loved my stay here. The location is incredible - literally within the jungle. The staff are friendly and helpful, and took me out on a night jungle trek. I have never stayed anywhere like this, and I would recommend Back to Nature to anyone who wants to immerse themselves in the jungle near Bukit Lawang. Truly a one of a kind accommodation.

We highly recommend Cheeky Monkeys as comfy and quiet place to stay in Bukit Lawang. The family run site of Sarah and Agus makes you feel like a family member. Everyone is every helpful, friendly and will give you a smile. The accomodation is clean, bed was large and very comfortable, the room and the towels had a very nice scent. staff helped us with an express wash of our trekking clothes. We had 2 times dinner and breakfast. it was excellent. fresh and well cooked veggie with exotic spices. they offer kitchen classes: at out next visit we will defintly join! Sarah organised a tailormade trekking for us. my husband and me, a professionell guide by the national park team and his assistent. they adjusted the trek to our needs: we are not the fittest ones and the area is steep and sometimes muddy. with the help of our guides we always felt safe and finally saw 3 Orangs on a 4hrs trek. It was great experiences! Overall 5/5 stars! Thank you Cheeky Monkeys!

The staff were so friendly telling us about local markets and places to go as well as booking tuk tuks for us and booking our jungle trek! The jungle trek itself was amazing and an experience I will never forget with Alex, Tenjong and Ari as our guides. They go above and beyond to make sure you're having the best time. 10/10 recommend
