For starters, this wasn't our first rodeo at Clementines. Over the past couple of years, I must've called - either with my son or partner - some 4/5 times. Rooms exquisite, staff and welcome exemplary, an ambience you won't find anywhere else in York. The decor is classic yet contemporary, amazing beds, wonderful bathrooms, AND - for the first time yet - we had breakfast. Oh my life, what've I been spending my life doing?? Superb spread, all seemingly local produce, and JUST the right amount of food to set you off on your day. Plus, it snowed over Saturday night, so we woke to a deep blanket of the white stuff. Lovely.

A very nice room with kind staff. The room was clean and big, and we loved the personal touch for our honeymoon. Being able to use the pantry was lovely! It was filled with all sorts of snacks. The location was very close to the centre of York, a short walk to the Minster. The breakfast was superb as well!

We loved Minster Walk Guesthouse! The location was great, very close to the town centre. The property was very cosy and welcoming, just what we were looking for. There were some lovely little extra touches, for example mini mince pies and a liquor waiting for us in our room and mulled wine in the downstairs lounge. The breakfast was brilliant, lovely to have it delivered to our room and they were very good at accomodating my husbands gluten allergy.

Barbican House is a 4-stars guest house set in a late Victorian building, just 10 minutes’ walk from York city centre and university and overlooking the medieval city walls.

Caroline, was the best host you can ever imagine, so welcoming, happy and funny. We instantly felt at home. Also the other ladies were lovely. The room was beautiful and superclean. The breakfast was very tasty and Tilly the waitress was so sweet and helpful. Will definitely come here again. The location was also great, close to the city centre. Just a walk thru the beautiful park and you were at the heart of the town. York has a lot of cosy pubs and restaurants. Great for a weekend away.
