The cottage was incredibly inviting and well-equipped, making it the perfect place to relax and unwind. A special thanks to Sophia who is a fantastic host who truly goes the extra mile to ensure her guests feel welcomed and well-cared for. We truly enjoyed our time there and are already looking forward to returning.

We were told repeatedly not to bother with Aberdeen as there is nothing there. However, we had a lovely stoppover with nice friendly hosts. They are working on adding a new coffee shop, so I can only guess the place will be even better.

The hosts are wonderful kind people & super accommodating! Views from the room were amazing, we saw some animals too!

* Daily guided game drive OR bush walk (dependent on whole vehicle opting to walk instead of drive)

* Visit to a historic Anglo Boer War site during a normal game drive, where the pivotal "Battle of Paardefontein" was fought The setting is good and we were in a anex to the main lodge with 2 other bedrooms with asitting room and fully equiped kitchen not used as we had full board. A lovely fire which was lit for us. 7 minutes walk to the lodge.

The en suite canvas tents have a patio and offer views of the valley. Each has a built-in shower, hot running water and electricity. Amazing experience!! It was a totally wonderful package of stay (comfortable warm beds, clean rooms), excellent food (we went as a family of 4 and 3 were vegetarians, all efforts were put in to providing them with specially curated vegetarian meals), game drives!! Amazing drive experience with very knowledgeable ranger!! He put in so much effort to show us maximum wild life. The morning coffee with giraffes is something we will remember for lifetime. The luxury tents have a deck with private plunge pool and views of the surrounding bush. They come with thatched roofs and wooden floors, as well as a fireplace and minibar. Thanks to the whole team! James, thank you for these unforgettable morning and afternoon rides. You immediately felt that he was a very experienced and funny ranger! Keep it up! We were able to see four of the big five. The lodge is very luxurious. Please remember that you live in the "bush" and you can sometimes encounter insects and other creatures while showering under the open sky. :-) But that's exactly what makes it so special!
