One of the Highlights of our Trip. The two hosts made us feel like old family members from far away from the first moment on. The tents are wonderful and sitting on the terrace watching the wild giraffes and other wildlife was hands down under the top 5 travel experiences we experienced in our lifes. I highly recommend going there also with children and to show them the wildlife of SA with a huge variety of animals. The Braai in the evening is another highlight featuring the best products like organic butter or meat. Do yourself a favor and don’t rush it. We stayed for 4 nights and could easily have stayed longer as you really experience the pleasure of a spot where time stands still. Thank you for having us. We will for sure come back ❤️

The spacious and elegant rooms and suites at Shamwari Long Lee Manor feature satellite TV, air conditioning, a ceiling fan, and tea-and-coffee making facilities. Simply great. Great location in many senses - the reserve itself (only 1 hour from the airport PLZ), the location of the manor in the reserve and of course the reserve as a biodiverse paradise. Food - great - suprisingly great we have to say. The Manor is spacious, our room was much larger than expected. It had a terrace facing the open reserve where you could see animals from a distance after a shower or having a coffee. The buildings have a modern country style touch, are very welcoming, open and invite to relax. There is "the usual" 5-star stuff to do, if you are not on a game drive (pool, spa, gym, etc). Which is great if you have a partner or you are in a group with people that are not into game drives as much - they will have a proper 5-star hotel experience and be able to relax anyway. - This is a main difference to camps with tents and less luxurious equipment. Staff is very friendly - nice concept of the ranger having breakfast with you afterwards so you can reflect upon what you have seen. Children - there is another camp in the reserve that is especially family friendly - I forgot the name - ask the reserve, they will tell you.

Elephants Lodge is located within the malaria-free Bellevue Forest Reserve, home to wildlife such as lion and buffalo. The lodge features natural gardens, patio’s and a lookout lounge overlooking the vast open plains of the Eastern Cape. Service was amazing. We went for our honeymoon, and they were extremely accommodating and went above and beyond. Rangers were very knowledgeable. Giraffe walk was an out of this world.
