Leopard Trails was one of the highlight stays of our Sri Lankan vacation. Its glamping with a capital G, and very good value for money. Just a few km from the Wilpattu park entrance, we went on 2 safaris and of course saw Leopard, Sloth bear, elephant and a bunch of other species. But TBH it was the stay in this luxury camp, with its spacious safari style tent rooms, its wonderful staff and food that was amongst the best we had in Sri Lanka. I 100% recommend staying here.

With lake views, Nirvaan Safari Lodge is situated in Wilpattu and has a restaurant, room service, bar, garden, terrace and barbecue. Wow, there are no words for this place. The host Ranil has created an oasis near Wilpattu NP focused on sustainability and responsible tourism. There are only two guest houses and the open hall for gathering and eating. The ambience is very calm and peaceful. But it also feels adventurous sleeping in the tents, knowing that elephants might came to sneak around the neighbouring fields. (We always felt super save because of the locals manning the watch platform during the night and the electro fence). We watched dozens of fire flys and the full moon from our open bathroom area a night. When we arrived on the main road we were picked up by a safari guide whom we booked a full day tour with the next day. Highly recommend that as well. In the evening we talked to Ranil a lot about his projects as a biologist in the park and he gave us a lot of insight into Sri Lanka. Of course my boyfriend loved the dog Kylie. If we ever come back to Sri Lanka we have to come back here.

Situated in Achchamulai, Wilpattu Green Cabin features accommodation with seating area. The property has lake and river views. There is a picnic area and guests can make use of free WiFi, free private parking and an electric vehicle charging station. Everyone was super nice. It was quiet and they accommodated all my wishes. I wanted to extend for two more days and it was no problem at all. The safari that I booked through them was amazing and the transfer that they organized was perfect. Happy to go back Thanks so much 😊

Harshan and his lovely side kicks Mom and Aunt make you feel welcome from the moment you enter the gate and make sure you have the best time with everything you need. The food they cook is amazing and I would highly recommend you ask the ladies to cooked what they would like to cook that day; they will keep surprising your tast buds with fresh new flavors! Your new Sri Lankan Mom can prepare a big ass squid in 15 min. and it was the best meal I had in Sri Lanka (and I do no even like squid, haha). Perfect for sporty guests, because the windsurf & kite school is only a 10 min. walk down the road, you can go for a work out in the gym or do yoga in the garden. More layback? Not to worrry; take a free bicycle for a spin to the other side of the bay and relax! Many many thanks for my wonderfull stay! Decorated in rich and bright orange, all air-conditioned tents feature a spacious verandah with comfortable seating. En suite bathrooms are equipped with a relaxing rainshower. The beach location was wonderful. The tents were really comfortable and well-equipped. The swimming pool was quiet and sea two steps away. The staff couldn't have been more helpful and kind. Breakfast was amazing with delicious curries and dal, fruit and cakes and eggs etc. The staff arranged our dolphin boat trip and the dolphins swam around underneath us - a magical experience. Great spot for bird watching too. We highly recommend Dolphin Beach Resort - a very special place.
