Kambu Mara Camp is situated in Sekenani and offers a bar. Featuring full-day security, this property also provides guests with an outdoor fireplace. The accommodation features a 24-hour front desk, airport transfers, a shared kitchen and free WiFi. Comfortable Tents: The comfort tents felt luxurious in the wild, with super comfy beds, private shower and toilet, making the whole experience very comfortable. Wonderful Staff: Everyone was incredibly friendly and made us feel welcome. Special thanks to Chef Nelson, Felix, Nelson, Peter, Simon, and Alan, who were all amazing. Safari Experience: Our guide, Alan, was knowledgeable and great with the kids. The safari itself exceeded expectations, offering unforgettable moments with the wildlife. Campfire Evenings: Gathering around the campfire in the evenings was a memorable experience. The sounds of hyenas and wildlife in the mornings made it feel even more magical. Warm Hospitality: The overall vibe of the camp made us feel at home and added a personal touch to the experience. Warm Layers: We ended up purchasing some lovely traditional blankets from Alan to stay warm in the chilly August mornings, which was a nice keepsake.

This tent has a seating area, a balcony, garden views and a shared bathroom. The unit has 2 beds.

With garden views, Greenwood safari camp is set in Talek and has a restaurant, a 24-hour front desk, bar, garden, sun terrace and outdoor fireplace. This property offers access to a balcony, darts, free private parking and free WiFi. The accommodation offers airport transfers, while a car rental service is also available. The owner of the camp has assembled a great team of commited people. They provided us with everything: information, transport, guide and superb food. In fact, you can have the camp arrange your game drives in the Masai Mara and your transport from and to Nairobi, all at very competetive rates. The owner, Magdy, will explain everything to you through WhatsApp. All the accomodation and facilities are safe and clean (but opt for the larger and more comfortable rooms!). I did a lot of research before my booking, and I think Greenwood (also recommended in the Lonely Planet guide book, by the way) is among the best choices, if you are on a budget. Go there!

Located in Talek, Talek Bush Camp, Masai Mara provides accommodation with seating area. This property offers access to a terrace, free private parking and free WiFi. Extra facilities include a 24-hour front desk, meeting rooms, a tour desk and housekeeping service. Attendment. Abdul, the manager, organised everything for us. From the transfer in Nairobi to the tours in the park and transfer back. We asked for an open car with no windows, and everything was done as we asked for. The tent was very comfortable with a hot shower. We were lucky and had an upgrade to a tent with a river view, most of the tents don't have a river view. Bed is comfortable, food has limited options but is good, they offer local beers with reasonable prices. We loved to watch the animals at the end of the day at the river. We saw baboons, monkeys and a family of mongooses run past our tent. Staff are very friendly. The park itself was amazing, we spent 12 hours there everyday. We highly recommend this camp, they will organise everything for you. The location is also a plus, right beside the Talek river and 3 min ride from the park gate. Very good cost benefit ratio.

Sitting on a shady raised platform facing the Talek river, each luxury tent covers approximately 26sqm and is fitted with a queen size bed or 2 twin beds. It is furnished in the classic style of the grand African safaris; with large four poster beds and reproduction furniture, offset by modern en-suite bathroom with a hot shower; flush toilets and all the necessary amenities. All the staffs were nice, warmhearted, and helpful, location close to the airstrip; the camp by the river, you even could see hippos, cocodrilo, impala or dik dik out there; the price includes safari which made things way easier, solo traveler friendly. They even prepared celebration cake and gift for 4 nights guest, I was more than surprised and astonished. Overall our safari guide John was so amazing and extraordinary, so that I had 4 days magical and fantastic safari experience.

Located in Aitong, Enkusero Mara offers accommodation with seating area. This luxury tent provides free private parking, free shuttle service and free WiFi. Boasting family rooms, this property also provides guests with an outdoor fireplace. Small (3 tents, one of which is a large family tent), intimate, charming camp, unfenced, ideally located, in the north conservancy, just 5 minutes from the Maasai Mara’s Musiara gate entrance, 15 minutes from the air strip. Completely local ownership and management, which we highly value and one of the reasons we chose this, together with the location and the small size. We had tent 3, high on stilts, large, private, wooden floors, huge netted windows, outside deck all around, unobstructed views on the savannah. Big comfortable bed with good mattress, en-suite bathroom with toilet and huge shower, running water. Electricity and hot water are solar - electricity is around the clock, so maybe the camp tops it up at night with a generator, but we never heard one. Large, charming traditional mess tent, with bar area, and extra lounge, wonderful outdoor deck with fire pit, small plunge pool with deck chairs. Food was excellent, they will apparently cater to dietary needs but have a fixed menu. Most meals in the mess tent, some scenically set in the bush. All drinks were included as was daily laundry. Highly knowledgeable and dedicated guides (William the owner, and Alex), game drives were mostly inside the park and arranged as and when we wished, with picnic breakfast and/or lunch, or not, as we wished. Park fees were included which made the offer we got superb value for money. We had been on safari several times almost 4 decades ago when luxury safaris were mobile or semi-permanent tented camps, small, unfenced, only with simple drop toilets and hot bucket showers, communication only via radio, bush cooking, communal mess tent and fire pit… but with an abundance of local staff delivering perfect, exclusive service. That’s the feeling we were looking for again and this is the closest we found on our trip to Kenya: very similar traditional, exclusive safari feeling , experience and charm, with great service, modern comforts, but no excesses and low imprint.
