The Jaguars Jungle Rainforest Lodge - All meals included features a garden, private beach area, a terrace and restaurant in San Pedrillo. Providing a bar, the property is located within 600 metres of San Pedrillo Beach. The hotel also provides free WiFi as well as a paid airport shuttle service. The Jaguars Jungle Lodge was incredible and I highly recommend staying here if you are interested in experiencing the best location in Costa Rica. We have been to Costa Rica six times and this was our favorite lodge. The location next to Corcovado allows for wildlife viewing that is rare within Costa Rica. Most lodges even within the Osa are not located in wilderness. We saw tapirs every night on the property during our 3 night stay. Another group saw a puma shortly prior to our arrival. It does require an adventurous spirit to journey to this lodge and luxuries such as air conditioning are simply not possible in such a remote location. However we were quite comfortable at Jaguars Jungle Lodge. The food was excellent, our room was comfortable and staff as well as our guide were great. We enjoyed hiking the trails around the lodge and coastline, snorkeling, the night nature tour, hiking to remote beaches and swimming at the beach in front of the lodge. Our children ages 12, 15 and 18 also thought it was fantastic. This location allows for a much different experience than many areas in Costa Rica where throngs of tourists walk the trails.

Set in Cabo Matapalo, Four Monkeys Eco Lodge - Jungle & Beach offers free WiFi, and guests can enjoy a garden, a private beach area and a terrace. Silvina is an excellent host, very helpful and responsive. We had a marvellous time and saw so much wildlife during our stay! The off-grid experience was far more immersive than a hotel, and we slept very well in the comfortable beds, with the sounds of waves to lull us to sleep, and monkeys to wake us up!

Luna Lodge is a 10-minute drive from Carate Local Airport, 2 hours' drive from Puerto Jimenez Domestic Airport. Very warm and inviting. Staff knowledgeable and helpful. Good guides and a long list of activities for purchase. Probably best food in Carate and ranks among the best prepared "lodge" meals I've had anywhere.
